Some dates are made of conversation. The good ones also give you something to react to. At WoodCutter Frankfurt, Töngesgasse 4, in the Innenstadt shopping district and five minutes on foot from Hauptwache, the Duo Pack gives exactly two people a lane, an hour of axe throwing and a small rivalry to sort out between them.

The Duo Pack is designed for 2 players and no more. It is an upgraded version of the standard session: 1 hour of throwing on a private target, a safety briefing at the start, coaching that keeps adapting to your throws, and one drink per person, with the choice of drink left to you.

Whether it is a first meeting, an anniversary, a catch up with a close friend or a way to introduce a family member to axe throwing, the pressure stays low. Nobody needs experience, and the Axe Master takes care of the technique so the two of you can concentrate on each other. For the current rate, check the booking page.

When there are only two of you, the details matter more than the size of the venue. Here is what the Duo Pack offers at WoodCutter Frankfurt:

1. A lane for the two of you. One private target for a full hour, among the venue's 12 lanes, so you can keep your own score of who is leading.

2. A drink of your choice each. One drink per person comes with the pack, and the bar also serves tap beer, soft drinks and cocktails that you can order right from the lane.

3. Coaching that follows your throw. After the opening safety briefing, your Axe Master keeps tuning your grip and stance, and your height and arm length help decide which technique suits you best.

4. A pack for exactly two, and another one when the group grows. If a third or fourth friend joins the plan, the Classic Pack takes over: it lasts about an hour and is made for 2 to 6 people.

5. A short hop by train. From Hauptbahnhof, the S Bahn takes about three minutes to Hauptwache, and the venue is a five minute walk from there. Konstablerwache is close by too, and the whole distance from the main station takes around 20 minutes on foot.

The Duo Pack suits a romantic evening or an anniversary as well as a fun afternoon with a friend. It also works as a first experience for someone you care about: throwers can be from 12 years old, and anyone under 18 needs an adult with them, so a parent and a teenager make a valid duo too.

The opening hours leave room to pick your moment. Sunday from 12:00 to 22:00 works for a daytime date, sessions from Tuesday to Thursday start at 14:30 and close at 22:00, and Friday runs until 23:00 for a later evening. Monday is the only day off.

A duo counts as a small group, so WoodCutter suggests booking at least 48 hours ahead, and weekends and evenings fill up first. Booking online is the safest way to secure your lane and choose your pack.
