Verjaardag

Candles and cake are fine, but nothing gets a birthday crowd talking quite like an axe sticking dead centre in the bullseye. WoodCutter Cologne sits right at Rudolfplatz, inside the Steigenberger Hotel, which makes it one of the few birthday venues in the city where the axe throwing bar and a landmark address are literally under the same roof.

The Birthday Pack, open from 4 participants, gives your group around 1h45 of guided axe throwing on private lanes. An Axe Master runs the safety briefing, coaches the group through the basics and organises games leading up to a tournament that crowns the birthday crew's top thrower. Because the exact rate depends on group size and date, the fastest way to a number is to reach out directly to cologne@woodcutter.de or call 0221 71820611.

Beyond the standard package, WoodCutter Köln can also be booked out entirely for private events, an option worth knowing about for a birthday crowd that wants the whole venue to itself rather than sharing the room with other guests.

The Birthday Pack at WoodCutter Cologne is built around the same format available across the network, run here on the venue's 11 lanes:

• Around 1h45 of axe throwing, with coaching and a full safety briefing before the first swing

• Games leading up to a tournament that decides who throws best on the night

• The chance to try different axes and pick up a few trick shots along the way

• A private lane kept for your group for the full session

For a party that wants more than a shared room, the whole Cologne venue, right inside the Steigenberger Hotel at Rudolfplatz, can be rented out as a private space for the occasion, from company celebrations to birthday parties for larger guest lists. That option sits on top of the standard Birthday Pack and is arranged directly with the Cologne team once you know your numbers.

As with every WoodCutter location, exact pricing moves with your group size and the date you pick, so the booking page or a message to the Cologne team will confirm the figure for your celebration.

Inside a hotel landmark Sitting at Rudolfplatz inside the Steigenberger Hotel, WoodCutter Cologne gives your birthday an address your guests will actually remember, not just another bar in a side street.

A private venue on request Beyond the standard lanes, the whole location can be rented exclusively for an event, a rare option among Cologne's birthday venues that usually only offer a shared room.

Open most of the week WoodCutter Cologne closes only on Mondays. The rest of the week runs from early afternoon, with Fridays open until 23:45 and Saturdays stretching to midnight, so a birthday can land on almost any day that suits your crew.

A bar built into the celebration Beers and cocktails are part of the axe throwing experience itself, poured for guests actively taking part in the session, so the party never has to pause to find a second venue.
