WoodCutter Frankfurt sits at Töngesgasse 4, in the Innenstadt shopping area, about a 5-minute walk from Hauptwache. Arriving from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof? Take the S-Bahn to Hauptwache (around 3 minutes), walk the rest of the way, and you're at the door.

Inside, 12 lanes mean every group plays on its own private lane and keeps its own scoreboard, so the race for the top spot stays between you and your friends. Your Axe Master opens with a 10-minute safety briefing, then spends another 15 to 20 minutes on your grip, stance and release, adapting the technique to your height and the length of your arms. After that, the session turns into a mini tournament with challenges, scores and plenty of cheering.

Thirsty? Tap beer, soft drinks and cocktails can be ordered straight from your lane, so the game never has to stop. Sessions start from €21. WoodCutter Frankfurt is closed on Mondays, open Tuesday to Sunday, and stays open until 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays. Book online, ideally at least 48 hours ahead for small groups, and your lane will be waiting.

Three packs for three group sizes The Classic Pack lasts about an hour and suits 2 to 6 people. The Premium Pack is made for groups of 6 to 20, with organized games, challenges, scoreboards and an Axe Master keeping the energy high. The Ultimate Pack is for groups of 8 or more.

Knife throwing on top of the axes The Ultimate Pack adds knife throwing to your axe session, with specialized throwing knives and coaching from the team. It is the way to try both disciplines in a single visit.

Close to the S-Bahn stops that matter Hauptwache is 5 minutes away on foot, and Konstablerwache is nearby too. From the main station it's about 3 minutes by S-Bahn, or a 20-minute walk through the city centre if you'd rather arrive warmed up.

A technique adapted to your build Your Axe Master looks at your height and arm length to work out which throwing style suits you best. That's why most beginners see their progress within the first throws, and why the first "thunk" of an axe sticking in the target comes so quickly.

Late-morning starts on Saturdays Doors open at 10:45 on Saturdays and close at 23:00. Sundays run from 12:00 to 22:00, Tuesday to Thursday from 14:30 to 22:00, and Fridays from 14:30 to 23:00. Only Mondays are off.

Open to teens from 12 Throwers must be at least 12, and guests under 18 need an adult with them. Younger children can settle in the seating area and cheer on the family from a safe distance.

Team building in Frankfurt The Premium Pack was designed for 6 to 20 people, with games, scoreboards and an Axe Master leading the way. Communication, trust and healthy competition come naturally when a whole team is throwing at once, and it's a good way to let off some steam together. For larger teams, book well in advance.

Bachelor/bachelorette party Give the guest of honour a proper challenge: organized games, a scoreboard and a group cheering every bullseye. Groups of 8 or more can step it up with the Ultimate Pack and add knife throwing to the programme.

A first date or a couple's evening Two people, one lane and a bit of friendly rivalry: the Duo Pack makes conversation easy, even if you barely know each other yet. Axe throwing is one of those activities where connecting happens on its own.

Birthday party Bring the whole crew and let the birthday guest go for the top of the leaderboard. With throwers welcome from 12 and a seating area for younger cousins and siblings, the party can stay all in one family.

After work or a night out with friends Weekday doors open at 14:30, so a late-afternoon session fits right after the office. On Fridays you can keep going until 23:00. If your group isn't made up of puzzle fans, axe throwing works better than an escape room for mixed groups and bigger teams.
